Multi talented and beautiful actress, singer, and author, Karen Black, has died today passing away moments ago according to her husband, Stephen Eckelberry.

Stephen wrote on his Facebook page: “It is with great sadness that I have to report that my wife and best friend, Karen Black has just passed away, only a few minutes ago. Thank you all for all your prayers and love, they meant so much to her as they did to me”.

Miss Black, the multiple award winning and nominated actress in such films as 1970’s “Five Easy Pieces”(Golden Globe winner), 1974’s “The Great Gatsby”, (another Golden Globe win), Academy Award nominee also for “Five Easy Pieces”, the New York Film Critics Circle Award again for “Five Easy Pieces“, and many other awards, was battling a war with cancer which she publicly shared and fought.

My thoughts and condolences to Stephen, Hunter, Celine, Gail, and everyone part of Karen’s family. I am so sorry for your loss of an amazing mom, sister, wife, and friend.
