On Wednesday, October 1st at the Egyptian Theater, CA, Beyond Fest & American Cinematheque screened the 1978 John Carpenter classic, “Halloween“, remastered in 4K. Before the films panel and screening, Beyond Fest’s, Christian Parks & American Cinematheque’s ,Grant Moninger thanked theater attendees and also gave out a few cool horror themed Blu Rays to audience members who answered a few easy trivia questions. Way to go Christian & Grant!
Grant then introduced journalist and panel discussion moderator, Geoff Boucher. Geoff held an informative and interesting Q & A with “Halloween” director and screenwriter, John Carpenter, and Halloween star and author, Jamie Lee Curtis. Geoff was kind enough to also take questions from the audience for John and Jamie Lee as well.
During the panel, Jamie Lee and John shared with fans their memories and experiences while working on the film, answered audience questions, and presented a cool replica Halloween Mask which was signed by the the majority of cast and crew from the movie. Jamie Lee mentioned the mask would be auctioned at a later date to benefit American Cinematheque and also gave a shout out Convention All Stars CEO, Sean Clark on how she initially became involved with her first and only horror convention appearance in November 2012, held by Horror Hound. Jamie’s appearance at that convention raised over $150,000 for The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. and John also gave a shout out to the excellent book, “On set with John Carpenter” by Kim Gottlieb-Walker, which includes amazing on set photos Kim took during the making of “Halloween“.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the panel discussion with two of filmaking’s most respected artists.
